BESIDE THE SEA
Not all landscape photography takes place on the land! The coast is an incredibly dynamic and difficult place to take photographs. I have to time tide height with the expected ambient light while staying safe from rogue waves and a constantly changing set of compositions that need to be adapted to in real time. Often, once a composition is finally decided upon, the water position or light changes and I have to start again. It can be frustrating, but because of those very difficulties the images made in these conditions can often be the most rewarding.
